EG Graduates Local Business Owners - April 16, 2026

On April 16, 2026, the community gathered to celebrate a special group of individuals: Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) alumni who have chosen to build their businesses and raise their families right here at home.

The heart of the evening featured two incredible local business owners who shared how their time in EGUSD schools laid the foundation for their professional journeys:

  • Nadia Mincey (Elk Grove High School): Owner of Ever After Wine.

  • Allen Kou (Laguna Creek High School): Owner of Interlude Kitchen and Bar.

Both Nadia and Allen shared touching, humorous, and insightful stories about their student years. They highlighted key life lessons learned in the classroom ranging from the importance of philanthropy and helping those in need to the organizational skills required to run a successful business.

The event was a true community collaboration, featuring wine from Christopher Cellars, delicious wood-fired pizza from Fired Up Pizza, as well as exciting raffle prizes and networking with fellow community supporters.

Beyond the celebration, the evening served a vital purpose. All proceeds from the event directly support the EGUSD FIRST Foundation and the foundation’s continued mission to support the Educator Grants, Newcomer Welcome Centers and Family Teacher Academic Teams. These initiatives help to enhance educational opportunities for all students, strengthen classroom support for our dedicated teachers, and provide essential programs and resources for EGUSD families and staff.
